We have joined forces with the Save Your Photos Alliance, E-Z Photo Scan and Kodak to bring Save Your Photos Day to Joplin!
The main feature of this event is allowing you to quickly scan those old photos you have sitting around.
Film based photos that are not already a part of your digital library are at risk of being lost forever should another tornado come to our area. And every day someone loses their home to fire.
Scanning your old photos or important documents will give you a digital archive to store on disk or in “the cloud”. Should the worst ever happen, you will have this as your backup to restore those memories.
We will also have activities on hand for you and your children. You will get to hear tips from a state archivist on preserving your memories and heritage, make a free scrapbook page, hear from several local businesses about disaster preparation, and get another chance to look through the Lost Photos of Joplin albums for any photos you may have lost in the 2011 tornado.
PLUS! You will get to have a family photo taken and printed for free! This service is being provided by some local photographers and Walgreen’s photo lab.
We are always looking for vendors and other volunteers who would like to participate in this event.
